Privacy Policy

MONO ("the app") is an Android launcher and AI assistant made by Sanjeet Yadav (Skydev). This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. MONO does not sell your data, and it does not run its own servers that read your messages, files or tasks.
1. Data that stays on your phone
Unless a section below says otherwise, everything the app works with stays on your device:
- your home screen layout, settings and app list;
- chat history and attachments;
- browser tabs, history and downloads;
- Mono Agent workspaces and the files it creates;
- the photos it takes.
API keys and sign-in tokens you enter, for AI providers, GitHub, GitLab, Gitea and MCP servers, are stored encrypted on the device. They are excluded from device backups and never sent to us. Uninstalling MONO, or clearing its data, deletes all of it.
2. Mono AI (the built-in assistant)
When you ask Mono AI a question, your message and recent conversation are sent to an AI provider to generate the answer. Depending on availability, that provider is one of:
- Hive (thehive.ai), serving open models such as DeepSeek;
- Groq (groq.com);
- Google, through Gemini and Firebase AI Logic.
We choose the provider. They process your message only to answer it, under their own terms, which decide how long they keep it: Hive, Groq and Google.
With web search on, Google may search the web for your question and show its sources.
We count the credits each answer uses, against your account in Google Firebase (Firestore). That count is a number: it never contains what you asked.
3. Your own API keys
If you add your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter or xAI (Grok), your messages go directly from your phone to that provider. They are sent under your own account and that provider's terms, and we never see them.
4. Mono Agent
Mono Agent carries out multi-step tasks in a private folder on your phone. When you give it a task, the task and the contents of the files it works on are sent to the model running the agent: Google's Gemini through Firebase, or the provider of your own key. Agent files stay on your device and are not included in backups.
5. Phone tools, location and camera
Mono Agent can use your phone's features when a task needs them. Nothing below happens in the background. Each one runs only while the agent screen is open, and only for a task you started.
- Phone status (time, battery, network, storage, sound, next alarm, installed app names): read when the agent asks. The answer is sent to the model running the task.
- Location:
- When and what: read only after you allow that request in the agent, after MONO explains why, and after you grant Android's location permission. It is a single reading: approximate unless you choose precise.
- Where it goes: to the model running the task, to answer it. MONO never reads your location in the background, never tracks it over time, and does not store it.
- Turning it off: you can revoke the permission at any time in Android settings.
- Camera: the agent can open your camera app after you allow it. The photo is saved only in the task's folder on your phone. It is not sent to any AI model or to us. It leaves your phone only if you share it, or push it to a code repository with your approval.
- Alarms, timers, calendar events, maps, sharing and opening apps: the agent hands these to the app that does them (your clock, calendar, maps or the share sheet), where you can see and confirm them. Calendar entries are drafts that you save yourself.
- Clipboard: the agent can copy text to your clipboard after you allow it. It never reads your clipboard.
6. MCP connectors
You can connect MONO to MCP servers: third-party services such as Linear, Notion or Wix, that let the assistant read or act on your accounts there.
- What you connect: you choose each server. Signing in happens on that service's own website, and the sign-in token is stored encrypted on your phone. We never receive it.
- What it sends: when the assistant wants to use a server's tool, MONO first shows you the tool and exactly what it will send. Nothing is sent unless you tap Allow. That information goes to that server and is handled under its own privacy policy.
- Where results go: the server's answer is sent to the AI model answering your question, to write the reply. In chat, MCP runs on Google Gemini.
- Resources you attach: a document you attach from a connected server is treated like any other attachment.
- Disconnecting: you can turn off or remove any server in Settings › Connections. To revoke MONO's access completely, also remove it in that service's own settings.
7. Code hosts (GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Codeberg)
If you connect a code host, its token is stored encrypted on your phone. The agent can read
the repositories you allow and push files to them. Every push is shown to you first, and
happens only if you allow it. Pushes go to a new mono/ branch, never your main
branch. Pushed files are stored by that host under your account.
8. Accounts, membership and app health
- Sign-in: MONO uses Google Firebase Authentication: an anonymous account by default, or your Google account if you sign in. This is used to keep your credit balance and membership.
- Mono Plus: subscriptions are handled by Google Play. We receive the subscription status, never your payment details.
- Analytics and crash reports: Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics receive app events, such as screens opened and features used, and crash reports. They never include the content of your messages, files, tasks or tool calls.
- App Check: Google Play Integrity checks that requests come from the genuine app.
- On-device models: downloads come from Hugging Face. On-device chats never leave your phone.
9. Your choices and deletion
- What you can turn off: every AI feature, the agent, connectors, code hosts and location are optional.
- Removing data: you can remove keys, servers and accounts in the app at any time. Uninstalling deletes all on-device data.
- Your account: to delete your account and its credit record, follow the steps on Delete your MONO account. We complete it within 30 days.
10. Children
MONO is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age for digital consent in their country, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes and contact
We will update this page when the app's data use changes, and change the date above.
